[Update: 4:42 PM MST] Firefighters are on the scene at the Western Kierland Resort for reports of smoke in the building. Phoenix Fire’s PIO is on the scene and will provide an update as information becomes available, according to a tweet posted on Twitter by Phoenix Fire Department officials.
[Update: 6:32 PM MST] The structure fire at the Kierland resort has been extinguished. The fire occurred in the roofing components of the ballroom at the resort with no fire extending into the residence portion of the hotel. No injuries were reported at this incident and no one will be displaced, according to a statement posted on Twitter by the Phoenix Fire Department.
