[Update: 1:20 PM MST] Scottsdale Firefighters are working with several agencies to protect structures, educate homeowners, and support fire operations for the #McDowellFire. There are several assets to help battle #McDowellfire: * Helicopters dropping water have helped limit the spread of the fire. * Slurry bombers will provide additional suppression efforts. * A crew of hot shots from Flagstaff will provide "boots on the ground" to combat the fire. We are keeping an eye on the fire burning near the Preserve. The hope is that the winds don’t shift to pull the flames into Scottsdale. South Trails in the Preserve remain closed for the time being to ensure no hot spots flare up and put hikers at risk, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.
